8: Postcard from Quantico.

Quantico, VA
September 15, 1942

This is our barracks. My room is over the 4B classroom. All the rest are like this and just as homey. Swell about your job Gretch; it sounds a lot better than steno, more productive. Still coming Sat. far as I know. Persuade Aunt Kit to stay over!

Love
P

Editor’s Notes:
The end is in sight. In about a week, final marks will be posted and recommendations for commissions distributed. Phil will shortly be on his way to New York to see his family for the first time since July. Gretchen has recently obtained a job selling clothes in a department store; it was far from exciting, but she decided “somewhat belatedly” to help out with the family finances.
